by It’s time to find out if your favorite television shows are now Emmy-nominated television programs.
Community star Yvette Nicole Brown and Television Academy president Mark Scherma announce the nominees for the 2023 Emmys. The announcement event, which kicked off Wednesday at 11:30am ET/8:30am PT on the Emmy’s website and YouTube channel, sees the pair pay tribute to the many shows that made us laugh, cry, and send an angry tweet (or 20) over the past year.
To be eligible for this year’s awards, a television show, limited series, or made-for-TV movie must have been released between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023. That time frame includes previous Emmy winners such as Succession And Ted Lassowho both returned this year for their respective final seasons, as well as big hits like The bear, The last of us, Andorand more.
Following the nominations, the awards are voted on by the National Active members of the Television Academy. A final round of voting, to be held August 18 through August 28, will determine who takes home the hardware when the Emmys ceremony airs live on September 18 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Fox.
