There’s something about her! The booked and busy reality star will go cha-cha-cha into the ballroom this fall, ‘DWTS’ judge Derek Hough announced Friday
Ariana Madix is officially a contender for the mirrorball trophy!
On Friday, Dancing with the stars announced Judge Derek Hough Good morning America that the Vanderpump Rules star, 38, appears on season 32 of the ABC dance competition.
“This season continues Dancing with the starswe’re going crazy – crazy about Madix!” Hough said as he introduced Madix. “Say goodbye to the drama and hello to the dance floor!”
‘That’s right, that’s me Vanderpump RulesAriana Madix, and I will be joining the cast of Dancing with the stars this season,” she said, before showing off some moves with Hough.
Madix is the first star to be revealed for season 23 of Dancing with the stars. The full cast will be revealed on Good morning America the 13th of September.

Andy Cohen previously teased Madix’ involvement in DWTS on his Sirius XM radio show, Andy CohenLive in May.
“I mean, she’s got endorsement deals. She’s on Dancing with the stars. The way people reacted to her last night was so positive,” he said of her performance on Watch What Happens live with Andy Cohen.
Hough, who takes over as chief judge this season after Len Goodman died in April, also teased Madix’s casting on Thursday when he appeared on GMA‘s Instagram Story.
“Good Morning America!” he said in the clip, which appeared to be filmed in Madix and VPR costar Katie Maloney’s new deli, Something About Her. “Guess who’s in Dancing with the stars this season?”

The casting news comes more than four months after she split from her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, after discovering his affair with them VPR costar and friend, Raquel Leviss.
Madix first commented on the breakup in an Instagram post about two weeks after the secret relationship came to light.
Instead of addressing Sandoval, 40, and Leviss, 28, she thanked her fans and friends: “When I felt like I couldn’t even stand, you all gave me the strength to keep going and get me through to see me through my darkest hours. To say I’m devastated and broken is an understatement.”
She ended the statement, “what doesn’t kill me better run.”

In May, she opened up to PEOPLE about her reaction to learning about the affair, sharing: “My anxiety was huge at first. Those first few weeks… just the stomach ache, not being able to fall asleep, not eating and feeling nauseous even at the thought of wanting to eat. It was so bad.”
She said learning about the cheating scandal between the now-ex and their Bravo costar in March was her low point.
“It felt like rock bottom,” she explained. “I’ve been through other things on the show before, but nothing like this at all. But there’s nowhere else to rock bottom but up. Honestly, I realized that really helped me get out of there.”

Since the split, Madix has booked a role in the upcoming Lifetime movie buy back my daughter. PEOPLE exclusively revealed a first look at her role as Agent Karen in the film, which premieres this fall.
She also keeps busy by landing more than 10 brand partnerships amid the fallout from Scandoval, according to Variety.
In GlamorIn the June cover story, Madix revealed that she had said yes to almost every sponsorship deal to provide for her family.
“We have no generation capacity in our family. I want to make enough money to take care of my mom and my brother and all the other family members who may or may not need it,” she explained. “I never, ever, ever want to worry about it. So I will work as much as possible not to have to do that.”
She also moved on from new love Daniel Wai, with whom she celebrated her 38th birthday last month, and began shooting season 11 of Vanderpump Rules.
