Three-point prop bets for Friday: Buy in on Young, Doncic

While the NBA season dwindles down, I still see prop value on the board worth targeting. As always, these are three-point prop targets.

I would normally bet on Zach LaVine here, but it seems the Bulls have been limiting their players’ minutes with their fate all but certain as the sixth seed. With that in mind, I find it best to avoid them in a good spot against Charlotte.

That leaves us with two players in games that matter for seeding. It’s all the more interesting that these are two guards who will be tied to each other for their entire careers after that draft night trade in 2018.

Trae Young

We’ll start with Trae Young, who is averaging 9.4 three-point attempts per game in his last 10, shooting 8+ from deep in nine consecutive contests.

Young and the Hawks get the Heat tonight, and Atlanta can still work its way up in the play-in seedings, something I imagine the Hawks are motivated to accomplish.

Miami allows the eighth-most threes per game this season, and with Young’s volume, I expect some makes.

Young has 4+ threes in five of his last 10 games.

Betting options:

  • 4+ threes (+132 FanDuel)
  • 5+ threes (+310 FD)

Luka Doncic

Then there’s Luka Doncic and the Mavericks, who get our favorite target in the Portland Trail Blazers.

Dallas is currently the fourth seed in the West, which is not yet secure. The Mavs could get up to the three seed or drop to the fifth seed, so I expect the usual minutes for Luka and the team.

Portland allows the third-most threes per game and allows opponents to shoot 37.1% from long range, the third-highest mark in the NBA.

Doncic’s volume is elite, averaging 9.8 three-point attempts per game in his last 10, shooting 9+ attempts eight times in that span.

We’re just following the shots here.

Betting options:

  • 4+ threes (+116 FD)
  • 5+ threes (+280 FD)

As a reminder, these are all .5unit bets for me, risking 1u total on each player. Good luck!
