As the song goes, Spider-Man – and his awesome friends – catch thieves just like flies. Then the popular animated series Spidey and his great friends returns to Disney Junior on August 18, young web-slingers will be treated to an all-new storyline called “Web-Spinners,” in which Iron Man creates all-new, hi-tech suits and gear for Peter Parker’s trio, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, aka Ghost-Spider. And all that gear comes right on time too, as Team Spidey will have to take the fight head-to-head with their frequent nemesis Arnim Zola.
But before “Web-Spinners” comes to TV, Hasbro is bringing it to toy shelves. Yahoo Entertainment has your exclusive first look at the toy giant’s new line Spidey toys with all the gear you’ll soon see on the small screen – including speedy vehicles and an ultra-cool playset modeled after Team Spidey’s new HQ. All of these toys will be available at most major retailers this summer.
Each member of the trio will receive new “Web-Spinners” specific action figures, each priced at $11.99. Accessories: a backpack, a special web spinning device and a handy bot to help them in the field.
These figures are also color coordinated to reflect their enhanced appearance Spidey and his great friends. We think you’ll agree that Ghost-Spider’s duds in particular are About the Spider-Verse-level cool.
And when they get tired of web-slinging, Team Spidey can jump behind the wheels of their character-specific rides, which retail for $27.99 each. For example, Gwen pilots a Glide Spinner that zooms around via spinning propellers.
Meanwhile, Miles prefers to get down to business… with a drill. His Drill Spinner can tunnel anywhere and the helmet protects him from flying debris.
As for Peter, he prefers to hover over the battle with a floating spinner propelling him forward, both on land and at sea.
If you want to pick up Team Spidey – and their robotic arch-villain – in one convenient package, the Gear Up for Adventure Pack featuring the quartet lets you recreate your own version of the brawls they’ll have when the “Web Spinners” storyline begins. off in August. This four-pack collection costs $33.99 and also comes with web-spinning attachments that easily clip onto the trio’s detachable helmets.
And when Team Spidey needs some R&R, send them back to their Iron Man-built home base, complete with command center, garage and transformation room. With additional action features included with this $129.99 playset, they can test their spinning skills before running off to foil Zola’s next plot.
It’s a big Spider-Verse out there… and these toys will keep your very own Spider-Team busy until Spidey and his great friends returns in August.
