S. Carolina, NC State, Stanford, UL are women’s top seeds


South Carolina (29-2) is the bracket’s top overall seed and will compete in the Greensboro regional. The Gamecocks fell to Kentucky in the SEC tournament championship game.

NC State (29-3) is the second No. 1 seed after capturing the ACC Tournament crown for the third straight time. The Wolfpack will play in the Bridgeport regional.

Stanford is the third No. 1 seed, will play in the Spokane regional and is coming off a victory in the Pac-12 Tournament championship game against Utah. Louisville is the final No. 1 seed and will play in the Wichita regional after losing to Miami in the ACC Tournament quarterinfinals.

The women’s showcase will include 68 teams for the first time, with First Four games being held on Wednesday and Thursday at top-16 host sites before the rest of the field takes the floor Friday and Saturday. The Final Four is slated for April 1, while the title game is scheduled for April 3, both at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
