The Dallas Cowboys continued their very busy March of player transactions on Tuesday morning.
The decision to bring back Gregory should not only have a great impact on the Cowboys’ daunting defense, but it also signals a continued trust that the organization has built with the 29-year-old. Gregory has been with Dallas his entire career since being selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft but has been suspended a number of times due to violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.
The former Nebraska Cornhusker recorded a career-high 17 quarterback hits and 6.0 sacks in 2021 over 12 games. Gregory underwent surgery on his left knee in January.
Hooker was selected 15th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft and joined the Cowboys in July 2021 after four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He posted 44 tackles, two passes defended and one interception in 15 games last season.
