It’s Jenny Han’s world, and we live (and love) it. Amazon Prime Videos series edit of The summer when I became beautiful, Han’s first YA romance trilogy, stole our hearts and dominated our screens last summer, elevating the two love interests, Chris Briney and Gavin Casalegno, to heartbreaking status seemingly overnight. In July, Season 2 of the coming-of-age romance returns to rekindle our infatuation with the Cousins Beach visitors – and apparently revive the twisted love triangle of Season 1.
If you’re a fan of Han’s work, either as the author of the original series or as a showrunner on The summer I became beautiful you might not be surprised to learn that this isn’t the first time the multi-hyphenate has adapted one of her works for the screen. The original Netflix movie series To all the boys I loved before is an adaptation of Han’s most recent series of romance novels and the streamer’s new show, XO, Kitty, marks the first Netflix Original show to be a spin-off of a Netflix Original movie – helmed by Han, but not based directly on any of her books.
Between Han’s production deal with Amazon Studios and the upcoming original movie and “a few books” she reportedly has in the works, it seems like it’s about time you jump on Jenny Han’s bandwagon, if you haven’t already. Here’s what you need to know about the new season of The summer when I became beautifulplus how to catch up with all the other series and movies in the Jenny Han universe:

Come one Summer I became handsome Season 3?
While Amazon has yet to confirm a third season of Summer I became handsomeare there rumors that the series has already started early production on Season 3.
Given that there are three Jenny Han books and the author signed an overall deal with Prime Video in 2022 that will allow her to “create and develop new projects” for the streaming service, the chances of a Summer I became handsome Season 3 looks good.
Is XO, Kitty a To all the boys I loved before follow-up?
This series spin-off from To all the boys I loved before focuses on Kitty Song Covey, the little sister of Lara Jean Covey (and Margo) from the Netflix movies. It’s a continuation of Kitty’s coming-of-age story, but the series doesn’t reveal much about Kitty’s two older sisters. The show also works independently of the movies, so even if you haven’t caught up yet To all the boys I loved before (although you absolutely should), you can still enjoy XO, Kitty as a stand-alone performance.
XO, Kitty form
Anna Cathcart reprises her role as Kitty Covey alongside her return To all boys cast members John Corbett and Sarayu Rao. Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee and Anthony Keyvan also star.
XO, Kitty Season 2 release date
Netflix’s first series spin-off from an original movie is getting a second season, but sadly there’s no official release date for it XO, Kitty Season 2 (still). In the meantime, why not check out the rest of Jenny Han’s universe?

Where to look The summer when I became beautiful franchise:
Are all of Jenny Han’s books connected?
Not precisely. So far, Han hasn’t gone so far as to state that all of her stories are connected. However, Jenny Han does make small cameos To all the boys I loved before And both seasons of The summer when I became beautiful. So, by that
logic, we could be assume these shows and movies are set in the same cinematic universe, even if there has yet to be a crossover (as Sam Levinson suggested on his two series, Euphoria And The idol).
Jenny Han books in order of release:
Although Jenny Han has three book series and two non-series novels, only two of her series have been made into movies to date.
