How many gadgets are currently working in your house? You probably have a computer, printer, TV, smartphone, tablet, e-reader, smartwatch and much more. With that ensemble comes a bird’s nest of charging cords and power cables… and a never-ending battle to keep them organized and tangled. But it doesn’t have to be: there are a whole host of cord management solutions to keep the chaos at bay.

Here are the best cable management options, all budget-friendly and available from Amazon.

Avanboom

These cable ties are the perfect solution for keeping your cords neat and organized. Available in three sizes, they are reusable, adjustable and durable…beautiful too.

$8 at Amazon

At just $8 for a pack of 20, you’re looking at just 35 cents each. They come in five different colors so you can color-code your gear (a black-only set is also available for a few dollars more).

Not surprisingly, they’ve accumulated over 11,000 five-star reviews on Amazon. “I love these things,” said one customer. “I bought them to use as cable ties for my desk, which they work perfectly for, but I’ve also since used them to wrap cords for stored devices, wrap my headphones in my bag to keep them from getting tangled touch; I even use them to wrap the handles of my canvas shopping bags.”

PASOW

Similar to the Avantree Velcro cable ties, but even cheaper, are the Pasow Velcro cable ties. For $7.50 you get 50 – that works out to just 16 cents each.

Pasow cable ties come in a variety of colors and you can buy them in single-color or multi-color bundles. With nearly 19,000 five-star reviews to their name, you know these are going to do you good.

“They’re lightweight with no anchors or starters, very convenient to apply, especially when you’re upside down under the desk,” explains one reviewer. “You receive more than enough, so you don’t have to ration them or worry about them running out. I burned them through at my desk without worry, had plenty left over, so I decided to organize the cables in the living room as well, and still have some.”

VELCRO brand

The Velcro Brand One-Wrap Cable Ties have a slightly different design than other Velcro strips – they are self-fastening!

$14 at Amazon

The ties are super easy to use – all you have to do is put the rounded end through the hole and pull the strap tight; the cord straps then wrap tightly around themselves. They come in pre-cut lengths that can be adapted to different placements, such as office furniture, an entertainment center or a home office, but they are especially a good option for securing large, bulky cords. At $14 for a pack of 60, they are tres frugal too.

“Believe me, you’ll keep finding uses for it!” said a customer. “The best feature of these reusable ties is the way they can be looped onto cords so they don’t get lost or accidentally thrown away between uses…I have them in every room of the house. I use them on all small kitchen appliances for neater cabinet storage and neater countertops. I use them in the bathroom for cords for hair styling tools. They are useful for shortening the cords of lamps and tidying up the tangle of cords behind the television.”

The Velcro design makes an already ingenious invention even smarter. You’ll never have to tolerate unruly cords again.

These self-clamping cable ties stay on the cord when you’re not using them, making them less likely to be lost. They are made of durable, heavy-duty nylon that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. A pack of 40 that look like zip ties with both 4-inch and 8-inch straps is currently on sale for $14.

“Love these cable ties/straps!” lyrically a customer. “I was looking for something to keep my growing collection of cables from looking like electronic spaghetti and found this one. These are super strong and easy to use. As soon as I tied my first cable, I put them all around my desk and started looking for others to tie as well. I also love the variety of formats in this pack.

Rustark

Zippered nylon ties are great when you need to quickly add or remove cables from the bundle. These from Rustark have adhesive pads so you can stick your cables to a wall or under the desk for a cleaner look.

$10 at Amazon

You get 50 pieces – 25 small and 25 large – for just $11. Buyers love them. “I consider these a must-have,” said one reviewer. “The glue isn’t insanely strong, but if you let it set it will hold pretty well. In my home studio it keeps the wires from being everywhere…It’s almost always cleaner to let the wires disappear and not too hang; these do that better than anything I’ve seen.”

Ohill

These have adhesive pads that can be stuck to your desk, a wall, or any other surface to keep your wires organized yet easily accessible.

$10 at Amazon

Unlike Velcro cable strips, the cable management kit clips are stationary and can also secure items such as pens or toothbrushes. “These work great,” said one reviewer. “I would highly recommend using them to tidy up cable clutter under or to the side of the desk. The single-cable ones are big enough for my keyboard cord, which is technically two cords in one thick case. You would be surprised how much of a difference this makes to the look and functionality of whatever setup you have.”

INCHOR

Inchor’s self-adhesive cable clips are similar to the Ohill clip retainers, but hold three or five cords in one silicone strip. They are super tacky, incredibly flexible and can bend around corners.

$7 at Amazon

At less than $7 for a 2-pack (one with three slots, another with five), it’s a very economical way to bring some sanity to your workspace or desk setup. “I am SO happy with this purchase,” said one customer. “The cords under my desk were so unruly that my feet often got caught in them. I already had some velcro to tie them together but it wasn’t enough to keep them neat and out of the way… It’s that simple but I can’t stress enough how much I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!”

Topboec

Instead of the hassle of buying multiple types of ties and clips, this all-in-one kit can handle just about any organizational challenge you may have.

$11 at Amazon

This handy bundle has no less than 126 parts: four cable sleeves, ten cable clamp holders, one hundred mounting straps and more. And believe it or not, you get all this for just $11.

“This cord organizer kit is extremely useful with multiple types of electrical cables and wires,” said one review. “I was able to tidy up the wires coming from my desk to the outlet with the neoprene zipper, which was extremely easy to install. I also used one of the sticky cord cables on the desktop to easily hold the phone cord charger.

D-Line

We love power strips, we really do, but they can be an eyesore. Look at the box! D-Line’s cord protector keeps it all out of sight and out of mind, as it should be.

$20 at Amazon

A desk cable management box like this one can help keep everything in one attractive unit and make it easier to clean spaces under your desk. Available in white or black, it has three inputs and outputs and is large enough for most surge protector power cords. Plus, the price is currently just $20 for the small version (the large is $27).

“I ordered a few of these little cord management boxes. They arrived yesterday and I ordered three more of the small size and one of the larger,” said a customer. “Two things I really like about this particular brand are the little vents on the top and the opening in the back, as well as the two ends for running the cords.”

Chouky

If you want an even more stylish cable organizer, check out the Chouky! It houses a power strip in a design-forward, impact-resistant box topped with a rustic-looking lid.

$27 at Amazon

For $30, you get a 2-pack (one large and one small) of desk cable organizers, plus ties, adhesive clips, and a fabric cable management sleeve, so you have everything you need for all your cables.

“I have three of these boxes all over my house,” said one happy buyer. “Not only do they make the area where all your wires are on the floor look better, but they also make the area easier to clean. I no longer have to move a handful of electrical/cable/computer/printer/TV wires to clean the floor, or clean the wires themselves.”
